2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Atom (689) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JAN 19, 2012
12oz bottle pours amber/brown with a medium off-white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, cocoa, nuts, and dark fruits. Taste is bitter chocolate, into mild caramel and toffee, ending on bitter nuts. Not bad, not amazing.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 crazyvin (1573) - New York, USA - JAN 18, 2012
A clear brown color with an off white head that quickly faded away, a slightly over carbonated appearance. Aroma had a nice caramel malt profile and some mild toffee/nut aromas. Flavor was similar. A little too gassy. Beer wasn’t bad or offensive in any way it just wasn’t great.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 thornecb (3095) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - FEB 22, 2010
Pours deep mahogany into a shaker. Off-white head quickly recedes to mottle surface. Sour butterscotch aromas. Astringent with upfront sour caramel and a lasting rancid butterscotch finish.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 nick76 (3583) - Tampa, Florida, USA - FEB 6, 2010
The aroma is not too far off from the standard of the style but it’s a bit weak. It’s malty, a bit chocolaty, with nuts, and cardboard. The appearance is brown with a small head. The taste is like the aroma with a bit of burnt toast astringency. The palate is average for the style. Overall this is a decent beer but I am not impressed.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ungstrup (23960) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - OCT 24, 2009
Bottled. A red-brown beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and nuts. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and nuts, leading to a dry, bitter, and nutty finish.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 NomDeBeer (414) - Maryland, USA - APR 12, 2009
Good looking beer - brown with red highlights, head does not last. Aroma of cardboard, soap, and caramel. Taste is the same. Strange sour finish. Mouth feel is a bit thin, but not terrible. At least it’s not obscenely over-carbonated. Drinkable, but boring.

Kind of a soapy malty aroma. Looks great. This is pretty nice. Nutty and malty, a little thin in the finish. Good not great.
