3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
[growler from brewery]
Nutty aroma with plenty of brown sugar, some cream, and detectable hops. Clear dark amber under a tan foam that drops to a patch and lace. The flavour is sweet and nutty malt up front, followed by a bit of bread crust and then brown sugar (honey?) together with a subtle bitterness. Medium to full body, medium carbonation, nutty finish. Balance is a bit too much on the sweet side--a drier finish would be better.

Pours a fairly clear copper with a spotty white head. Aroma is sweet caramel, honey, and light nutty notes. Flavour is nutty, caramel, getting some cardboard(goes away some as it warms up), lightly metallic, moderate bitterness and faint honey notes.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Thanks to cfrancis for this one. Pours a clear amber with a small head. Aroma of caramel, honey, nuts and cardboard. Taste is lightly metallic, cardboard, caramel, nutty and light sweet honey. Off flavors kill this one but it definitely has the potential to be a nice full bodied session ale.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from the brewery, bottled june 4th, drank june 16th.
Good clear brown, copper pour, with a fluffy beige head with a good amount of lacing. Aroma is a little yeasty, some bitter nuts, touch of roast, with some metals. Carb and body are great. The finish is medium on the bitterness scale, and it ends with a subtle sweet nuttiness. A nice example of the style. Nthing over the top but straight forward and pleasant.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle - 500ml. Limpid copper body with heavy carbonation and a fading off-white foamy/bubbly head. Decent malty/hoppy aroma with brown sugar, nutty, and honeyish hints. Taste is well balanced. it carries woody, caramel, and herbal notes. Ends with a good bittersweet finish. Not bad.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Clear copper coloured brew with a thick white head. The nose is slightly sweet with notes of toasted malt. Lightly grainy with a bit of earthy bitterness. Fairly sweet through the middle and on the finish. Pretty standard amber ale.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
clear golden orange pour with a small white cap, little retention and lacing. very fruity malts with a moderate sweetness - you could almost guess a fruit addition, soapy, cardboard, bit of citrus and grass. moderate carbonation, light body - oily, short sweetish herbal-citrusy finish. blah.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A great gift from my friend Andre for my birthday, a growler from the brewery and my first experience from these guys. Pours a rich clean amber colour with a frothy warm cap, great retention and lots of dirty lacing. Apple aromas with some mild sweetness. The honey notes are more apparent in the taste with some caramel and a decent grainy malt finish. Goes down smoothly. An easy drinking Honey Brown which is a step above the Sleeman’s version.
