3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not your typical golden ale, but this one defies description really. It looks innocuous enough with a clear sparkling golden yellow body and a skim of white head. A sniff reveals tangerine, lemon peel and gooseberry. Other fruity deliciousness follows and then you taste it. Wham! You’re sent back on your heels as a flood of bitterness rocks you to your core. It really is bitterness overload, but I have never been afraid of a challenge. I would suggest it is a little off balance and the aim of a boomerang is to bring people to come back. I would suggest it is a little bit much for less hardy palates. I think this is a beer with potential that needs a few tweaks.
