Comments: One of the driest that I’ve tried, yet not too astringent. The nose could be more expressive though.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Teresas. Golden color. Notes of champagne yeast, apples, and some more dry white wine. Not bad but I preferred the Calvados and Organic from Etienne Dupont.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very hazy gold. Soft musk and a touch of funk. Big fleshy dirty apples. Smoky, a bit watery, emptier than the nose suggests. Smoked almonds. Light funk. Lots of promise, but a bit of a let down.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Brouwerij Lane with Andrew and Brendan. Pours a bright hazy golden body with no head, some white bubbles. Aroma is funky, woody and fruity. Mouthfeel is super crisp and dry with overly sweet apple flavors. A bit too sweet. I liked more of the wood and funkiness in the aroma, wish this could’ve came through more in the flavor.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle poured at CiderDays 2012. I had this side by side with the Val d’Ornon, which was apparently Chestnut-aged, while this was stainless aged. This has a really punchy sour earth and vinegar nose. The flavor is a little sweet and washed out. This seems almost a little over commercialized.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Lots of chunks on the bottom of this one. Careful now.
Bottle from Top Hops. A few new Asturian ciders came into town a few weeks ago. A new Distributor focused on cider. Awesome. :)
Rounded pint glass. A tall, lemon lime, dirtier Mountain Dew-like pour. Just a touch of haze.
Smell is mushroom-y, musty, acidic apples & chalk. Don’t let it breathe & it’ll hit you with a bit of cheese.
Tastes of bittersweet, mildly tart apples & wild yeasty byproducts. Leafy, lemony, earthy apple cores. Varnish. Big acid gives a body boost to the fluttering carbonation. Very dry, but juicy. Noticeable sulfites. Oddly English woody/vanilla-ish finish. Interesting. It all seemingly falls apart if you sit on your glass for even just a bathroom break.
Glad to see more sidra on the market. :)
