2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
On bottle with Cunningham, thanks. Golden color, good foam. Some fruity aromas & citrus- mostly boiled vegetables and some funny stuff. Light body & complexity. Ok beer

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle from Beers of Europe. By no means the worst pale lager but nothing much going for it either. Pale, lager, carbonated.

1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
330ml bottle. Uninspiring lager. Pours an amber/reddish gold. Smelt pretty funky - stale? After taste is nice and hoppy but actual first hit is bad. Straw/bad hops

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Pale gold, nice head (thanks to my excellent pouring). I’ve had worse. I’ve also had loads better. Not disgusting. Dry(ish) finish. Not massively flavoursome.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
33cl bottle at a bar in Djibouti. Golden colour with minimal and quickly diminishing white head. Aroma is slightly malty and sweet. Flavour is similar as aroma, with a weak final. Carbonation is medium. Body is light.

1 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Pershore Road, Birmingham. Looks very bland - no head, no fizz, no life. Smells of skunky stale lager guff. Tastes artificially sweet, no bitterness and a very short finish. Watery palate. Nothing to this at all. Terrible.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
July 2011: Brown 33cl bottle (5.5% ABV) poured into a Duvel glass. Obtained from ’Beers of Europe’, bless them.
Good rich golden yellow colour, usual lager bright and clear appearance, next to no head though.
Slight aroma of grains, otherwise nothing on the smell front: gets my regular score of 3 for a non-smelling lager/pilsner.
The taste was harmless enough, bland and lager-like, but without any real hop or malt flavours to find. To be fair, it could have been a number of different/same lagers you find anywhere in the world and in a blind tasting would have come out in most peoples top half of the scores.
So a typical pils/lager with nothing wrong with it and nothing really going for it either.

1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
On tap at Bole International Airport (Addis Ababa). Pale piss-like body with a fair white foamy head. Weak malty aroma with some hoppy hints. Thin, horrible malty/corny taste that ends with a bad metallic, rotten cereals finish. Avoid!

1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle from Beers of Europe. Light golden colour, white head. Nose is skunked malts, vegetables, hint of corn. Pretty vile. Flavour is slightly better, sweet malted, hint of cooked vegetables. Slightly bitter finish. Not very well done.
