Muffiger, leicht erdiger Geruch. Wässriger, etwas holziger Antrunk. Mal hopfig, mel herber, dabei rustikal malzig. Im Nachgeschmack ist das Malz etwas feiner, das Bier recht herb und leicht sauer. Mildes Bier. Test vom 11.3.2007, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 8,8,8,7,-,7 - 7,42

Grima (1572) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - FEB 25, 2011
Shiny dark amber color with a flat, short-lived head. The smell is much malty with caramel and toffe. Just great. It starts very malty with a slightly sour note. In addition, subtle yeasty and slightly chocolatey. The aftertaste is also very sour, malty, here, the hop comes through something better. The further course seems to be always full-bodied. Wonderful toasty aromas come through, combined with chocolate and caramel. The first harsh acidity lies down something.

Draught at the brewpub; Stammwürze 13,2%
Beautiful amber color. It has some caramel aroma, unfortunately also some sourness. And the flavor confirms that an infection or fermentation problem has spoiled this beer, leaving a very light caramel flavor and extremely weak mouthfeel; this one too is not really bitter. They should not sell it in these conditions.

(draught at the brewpub) Hazy, copper colour with a medium-sized beige foamy head. Moderately sweet, minimal toasty malt aroma with a touch of cacao and a good dose of spicy hay-like hops. Light-sweet flavour, slightly toasted malty and subtle fruity taste with a whiff of caramel and cacao; light bodied with a lively, almost fizzy carbonation; moderately dry sweet-bitter finish with a light but present hop character.

On draft at the brauhaus: not as dunkel as I would have thought a dunkel to be. Poured orange/red/brown with a medium beige head. Peppery hop aroma. Fairly big hop flavor with a touch of chocolate malt. Very strong carbonation. Light fruitiness and a moderate sour finish with very mild bitterness. Good.
