pivnizub (7229) - Bochum, Porúří, - JUN 13, 2010
Bottle: Hazy, deep golden to light amber coloured, small off-white foamy layer; "chalky"-malty nose, maybe with a touch of diacetyl; moderate bitter-sweet flavour with a light acidity, medium bodied; diacetyl in the sweet-fruity finish with a sourish afterburner. Surely infected, no pleasure....

Koelschtrinker (7054) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 19, 2011
Milder, leicht getreidiger Antrunk. Test vom 7.5.2007, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 11,11,11,12,-,11 - 11,15

MoritzF (7342) - Bochum, GERMANY - MAY 17, 2010
(draught at the brewpub & bottle at home) Hazy, deep golden to light-amber colour with a mrdium-sized, slightly off-white foamy head. Sweet cara-malty and slightly bready aroma with a yeasty touch and herbal hops Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium to full bodied with a moderate carbonation. Solid (cara-)malty base with early arriving herbal hoppy accents, leading to a dry-out-effect towards the herbal and hop bitter finish with a pleasantly blended malty sweetness. The bottled version is heavily lacking carbonation and freshness (~2.6), otherwise a good and not too sweet pale Bock. 04. & 08.V.10

joergen (14985) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUL 2, 2007
Bottle. Hazy orange coloured with an off white head. Aroma of fruits, vegetables and spices. Flavour of fruits, spices and hops. Strange bock, looks and tastes more like a belgian ale.

thewolf (8625) - Kolding, DENMARK - JUL 2, 2007
Bottle. Muddy yellow with a small off-white head. Aroma is lightly sour with lots of oranges and a slight caramel sweetness mixed in. Round and acceptable mouthfeel,, though quite high in carbonation. Flavour is a little sour with a strong fruity note to it.

Ungstrup (23960) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - JUL 1, 2007
Bottled. An unclear golden beer with an orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of oranges. The flavor is slightly acidic malty with notes of fruit - especially oranges and peaches. Not your standard Heller Bock.

Papsoe (22987) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUL 1, 2007
(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of joergen. Pours a cloudy golden with a tall, lively, white head with good retention. Lightly sour, citrusy nose. Medium body with lightly sweet and flowery notes. Sourish finish. Very atypical for a German - and for a Heller Bock, if that’s really what it is. 290607
