Poured pale golden with a decent white head that diminished quickly. Almost no aroma, although only hints of any scent were apple type flavors, but, so faint to be barely perceptible. Flavor was mild with a bit of cidery spice, but not too overpowering. Quite mild, but, very refreshing.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours gold with a white head. Taste sweet, biscuit, fruity. I thought this was pretty good. I would definitely drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at home from backlog notes. Pours a hazy golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma and flavor have bready malts, honey, light caramel, mild fruity notes, some dusty character, soft earthy bitterness to the finish.

A very nice blond. Has a bit of lemon above an earthy background. The flavor is crisp and refreshing. The finish is dry. A very good summer thirst quencher. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750 ml corked and caged bottle poured a clear gold with a small lingering off white head. Aromas of straw, earthiness and light fruitiness. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, earthiness and light fruitiness with a smooth dry finish.

Dark golden appearance. Aroma of the winner’s circle in Amesbury. ..basically a dingey sports bar that had pool tables in the basement. Sips medium bodied with moderate liveliness, slightly champagne like palate. Yeasty, bready, and leaning towards malt driven flavors. Finish is moderately dry and crisp showing off the refreshing qualities. Nice brew, prob really good with cheese and light fish.

The appearance has a clear amber color, a medium white head, and fine, light-colored sediment suspended in the liquid. The aroma is a simple belnd of dough yeast and bread malts, and the taste is mildly sweet and slightly sour, neither of which are too terribly different than a typical Euro lager. The palate has an average carbonation, sour finish, slick texture, and a medium body.

A well-crafted and enjoyable beer! My first foray into both French beer and the biere de garde style in particular. A golden/copper colored ale that has a complex variety of fruity and floral hoppy notes. Sweet, but not too sweet, with a long mildly sour finish reminiscent of a red wine. A subtle buttery texture with low carbonation. Some alcohol warmth perhaps, reinforced by some toasted malt notes. Pleasant and unique, can be savored by itself but also seems like it would pair well with food. Similar to other golden ales, but does give the impression that this brew has been aged. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2014 Haven’t had many French beers... This one was great! I thought it was a nice balanced example of the style; not overbearing in any aspect. I’ll be buying more of this one.

Bottle - big foamy head, hazy medium copper color, sweet malty aroma and flavor, dry fruit notes, not bad overall ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
