750 ml bottle, BBD 011306, from Cellars in Minnetonka, MN (Dec 2004). Poured at cellar temperature into a Maudite snifter, where it shows a moderate receding head atop a rumlike, faintly yeasty but mostly clear body....caramel and Concord grapes are prominent in the soft aroma, not really a match made in heaven, too sweet and a bit artificial, with little to no fresh farmy character....on the tongue, its sugary, somewhat reminiscent of artificial maple, lightly grapy-cherry flavored, rather thin and overcarbonated/fizzy, lots of brown sugar and faint woody hints towards the finish, but overall its a thin, syrupy, fake-tasting old mess. Disappointing; I didn’t expect brilliance exactly, but this is near-repellant.

Habanero (2669) - Tranbjerg, DENMARK - MAR 4, 2006
UPDATED: MAR 5, 2006 70 cl corked bottle: Medium sized, fluffy, off-white head. Some lacing is precent. Deep amber colour. Apple, caramel and hints of malt in the aroma. Burned caramel, malt and notes of vanilla in the flavour. Light to medium bodied. Rather watery texture. Slightly hoppy and acidic finish. A pleasant beer.

A reddish brown coloured beer with a frothy, light beige-white head. The nose is citrusy to begin with, then a bitter sweet burnt sugar liquorice finish. The flavour is bitter sweet, caramel and liquorice and malty. There is an underlying citrus tang throughout.

Medium size fluffy white head on top of a clear chestnut brown body. Aroma was pleasant, malt, spice and pepper. Taste is ok, not that complex, soft mouthfeel, caramel and burnt sugar.

Clear nutty brown, modest tan head with poor retention. Very enticing aromas of buttery toffee and burnt sugar, with flavours of the same filling the palate. Very good.

This corked, marked 2-27, and caged bottled brew poured a large sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored long lasting bubbles that left behind a carbonated transparent caramel brown colored body and a fair lacing. It had a sweet malt hop amber ale aroma. The mouth feel was mildly tingly mildly vinous at the start and mellowed in the finish with a caramel mild flavor.

Corked and caged bottle. Large off-white fizzy head that was mostly lasting, fine-small sized bubbles, poor lacing, transparent, carbonated, and an orange hue. Malty, caramel, sweet aroma and ditto for the flavor. Smooth, thin palate. Light-medium body.

Bottled. A chestnut coloured beer with a reasonabl white head. The aroma is sweet and malty with Christmas cake and alcohol. The taste is also sweet and malty, brown berry fruits such as raisins come through. However there is a spoiling sickly vomit feel in the finish which is a shame.
