UPDATED: SEP 2, 2007 bottle from a local shop for local people. Deep, bright orange-amber w. creamy off-white head. Looks nice in my new snifter. Sweet aroma of corn bread and malts. Boring, watered down taste of spicy orange, toffee and hops. A bit of a let down and I wasn’t even expecting much.

Clear red pour with no head. Aroma is nearly non-existent. Taste is pretty sweet. Lots of sugar. Some copper notes and a general taste of metal. Mouth is thin.

Dark amber colour. Initially malty (toffee) and toasted with a characteristic yeasty touch. The finish is long, dry, lightly acidic and quite bitter.

330ml bottle. Clear amber. Lots of bubbles, not much head. Nice sweet malt nose, lots of bread, brioche, some butterscotch. Really sweet flavour, sweet bread again to the fore, nuts, lots of burnt caramel, some toasted notes. Decent body, fairly highly carbonated, short finish. Has a really distinctive flavouring this, I like it.

GoufCustom (773) - HONG KONG - JUN 30, 2014

330 ml bottle bought at CitySuper in Time Square, Causeway Bay.

Clear amber honey colour with no yeast sediments; Three-quarter finger head and beige foam which fades in 40 seconds; Very good sticky lacing and active small carbonation; Slighty fragrant aroma of amber malt, with faint roastyness, caramel, molasses, sugar, very light alcohol and yeast; Mid to light sweet taste of amber malt, with caramel, fairly light roasty, light molasses, hint of red fruits, light bread, yeast, lemon, light bitter hops and thin grass; Mid to light body. Slick and slightly creamy palate; Mouth feel is slightly thickened and creamed Amber Ale: fair maltyness, light roasted. Caramel set the tone with only molasses, light bread, and hints of cherry-like red fruits. Nothing more. Clean and simple… Hoppiness is no aroma, lemon and thin grass taste. Bittereness is light but notable for a sharp astringent long finish; Fairly dry after taste. Fairly easy to mouth.

Comments: This one is even more simpler than Ch’Ti Blonde, basically just a Amber Ale got thicker and creamier, with simple caramel nose and taste, fair malts and low hops. Faultless and alright to taste, but quite pointless when decent Amber Ales like James Squire Nine Tales does the job just as good. Very average as BdG.

An amber color beer with a sweet caramel taste, but also some citrus fruits aftertaste. It has a long lasting head. I liked it but not a big fan.

Off-white head, amber colour, aroma reminding og nuts and fruits. The flavour has an aftertaste of fruits and nuts too. A nice, well balanced bière de grade, although not the best I have tasted.
