2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottled: Dark brown coloured. Quickly diminishing beige/light brown head. Aroma is vague malty and somewhat sweet. Has some caramel/chocolate notes, but they are hard to find. Flavour is very watery. Light sweet and malty. Some vague notes of chocolate. Is light bitter in the end.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Intens dark brown beer with beige colored head. It has sweet and burnd aroma’s with hints of chocolat, expresso and old colheita port. The taste is rather thin, again with touch of coffee and roasted malts, it ends with a light sweet and dry burnd bitterness.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Ruby pour piled with beige. Lacy and rocky. Rusty tin aroma with brine-sodden maltloaf and grain. Slightly better than it sounds. Flavour blood, copper penny, whiskeyish grain and wholemeal. Thinner than the Blanche and annoyingly metallic. Tastes like a cheap supermarket tinned bitter.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Taste of roast malt, a bit of alcohol. Nothing else. No real aftertaste or anything. I actually find it a bit better than the Chti blonde, though.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Very dark brown. Brown head, creamy, not very stable. Nose of brown sugar and mocca. Taste is expressly liquorice and malt sugar, maybe again some mocca. Seems poorly attenuated. Watery mouthfeel, despite the malt. Aftertaste = liquorice. it is strange. Northern France is riddled with good bière de garde producers. The two topmost famous (Bénifontaine and la Choulette) brew piss-poor examples, yet everybody seems to swear by them.

(750ml bottle) There are times when I wish my quest for new beers did not lead me to beers like this one. It is not a bad beer, but considering what else I could have gotten for my $13, I am quite disappointed. Medium tan head atop a clear, dark red-brown body. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, nutty, some raisin. Taste is moderately sweet, nutty, caramel, cola, dark fruit. Finish is nutty and light coffee. Watery light-medium body with low carbonation.

Bottle. Off-white cramy high lasting and good looking head. Clear ruby head. Sweet malt aroma. Sweat malt flavor but some bitterness at the end. The looks is definately the best about the beer. The price is much too high.
