Bottle. Light brown head. Black body. Cocoa aroma. Flavor malty, sweet, choccolate/coffee. I am not able to distinguish if it is the carbon dioxide or the hops that makes it acceptable and not too sweet.

330 ml bottle. L4317. BB 22/3/08. Thanks to Semi!
This is a quite daring experiment as the BB date was 5 years ago. The colour is dark reddish brown almost black with small tan head. Looks pretty good. The aroma is very malty and rather sweet. It’s actually quite close to a Doppelbock or a Barley Wine. The flavour is quite the same. Sweet sugary flavour with lots of malt. Also some Coke notes there. As Pinball pointed out this one doesn’t age very well.

Dark brown color, unclear. Has a beige head, medium lasting. Dark, malty notes. A little lactic note in both aroma and flavor. Flavor is mostly sweet. Medium body.

Bottled, 0.7 liter, BB '97 (>8 years old). Very dark red-brown color, small head. Aroma is very weak, some malts and alcohol. Taste is a bit stronger, definitely port-like, strong fruity and a bit alcoholic. Sirupy texture.

sayravai (4667) - Helsinki, FINLAND - NOV 7, 2004
(Bottled) Very dark, clear brown color with a very small head. Mild, soft, malty and somewhat yeasty and alcoholic aroma. Slightly spicy and roasty, quite malty flavor with anise and licorice hints. Hides the ABV well. Medium-bodied, almost watery palate with low carbonation. A decent and very drinkable, but quite light christmas brew.

Frothy beer initially, but the head soon disapppears. The aroma and flavour resembles a weak dunkel. Overall the beer is malty, and is good.

Grovlam (4152) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 6, 2006
Bottle. Very dark, almost stout in its appearance. The head was impressive creamy like. Did not feel the Christmas like aroma, which some Christmas beer have. But still a nice sweet aroma. Some notes of dry fruit, yeast and spice, smoke and coffee. Thought palate was light bodied with a watery texture to it. Slight bitter maybe even sour finish.
