Bottle. Clear golden color with a thick foamy white head. Aroma of grain and malt. Sweet malty taste with some bitterness in finish. Medium thin body. This is not a Belgian style Tripel as it’s currently categorized.

Pours golden and clear with 2 finger foam. Aroma is very, very mild. It has hints of buttery citrus, berries and also alcohol, unfortunately. Taste has citrus and plenty of spicy yeastiness, but hint of alcohol is present also. Quite dull taste. Palate is medium, little alcoholic and medium carbonation is also present. Quite dull tripel with hints of alcohol in aroma and taste. Not very convincing.

Appearance of a belgian blonde beer. The aroma and flavour is sickly sweet. A struggle to drink in quantity owing to its pudding drink nature.

Bottled. A clear golden coloured beer with a small fast disappearing white head. The aroma is honey sweet with no expected spiciness. The taste is also way too swett for a tripel with floral honey tastes dominating. Not that bad a beer just really poor within its style. Drank my share of the 750 quite quickly as it wasn’t woth savouring.

Quaffable would be the politest way of describing this one. Like the rest of the Ch’ti range this one is a little too thin and overly subtle to bare up against the big boys. Tasted from the ’nip’ bottle into it’s own bulbous chalice, quite cool. Poured a sunny gold, slightly hazy, very finely carbonated and showed good lacing but rather lacked in the head department producing no more than a film of white. Initial burst of sulphury yeast and feta cheese gave way to gentle (too gentle!) notes of toffee, breadcrumbs, soft melonous fruits and spicy alcohol. In the mouth it’s not overly big in body, in fact a little too thin for style, but it’s smooth and soft on the palate. Subtle in flavour; notes of sweet citric fruits, a dash of vanilla, bready yeast and an alarming presence of higher alcohols manage to race across the tongue with ease. Finish has pine nuts, oranges and vodka which I could best describe as ’HOT’. Remarkably, it comes off as fresh and quenching, kind of like a vodka & orange. I love my Tripels, so this one sits outside the circle by a long-shot. Unremarkable!!! (25cL, 08/09/06, Int’l Beer Shop, W. Leederville)

75cl bottle, best before 03/2012. Orange colour, slightly hazed. Small wite head, looks creamy. Grainy on the nose. Aroma of apricot marmelade, yeast, syrup, some sweet malts, cork. Quite heavy and sharp in mouth thus being quite foamy. Was not expecting special stuff from France and this is it.

Golden orange colored beer with a fast disappearing head. Aroma of apple and straw with little spices and alcohol present. Sharp hay and straw flavor with some citrus. Somewhat cloying and not really my kind of beer!
