malty and spicy aroma with some shades of herbs... the taste is malty with notes of spices and dry wine and slight hoppy bitterness... sweet and bitter aftertaste... it’s not the right triple...

Golden color. Some malt, hop and cork in the nose (it’s a 750ml bottle, corked). Sweet, good body strength, some malt, some cork. Not impressive.

UPDATED: APR 1, 2004 Deep golden body. Tall, rich, lasting head. Malty and fruity aroma, with a hint of hazelnuts. First sip is strongly malty and sweet, with a weak, slightly bitter finish. Some alcohol is felt. Fizzy carbonation, creamy mouthfeel, medium to full body. Not too bad, and still better than most French brews; anyway, this is the second but as a biere de garde I try and I had liked the prevoius (Jenlain) better.

[Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm] Pale golden, fairly lively. Almondy yeast aroma dominates the nose. Medium sweet withclean but firm mouthfeel and medium body. Vague estery notes of raspberries, but although pretty good, as a whole it’s like a Bière de Garde light, less extrovert and with less appealing malt character than the top examples of the style.

Golden lager like appearance with a decent white head. Fresh orangey and floral nose. Clean crisp yeasty flavour with a slightly sweet body. Not overly complex, in fact a little thin. Not the finest offering from this brewer.

Average tripel. Nothing stands out, and head is definitely lacking. taste is average , just a run of the mill tripel.

330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Bestillingsutvalget. Pours a solid, frothy white head, slowly diminishing over a bright dark golden body. Faint lacing. Mild spiced fruity nose, hints of wheat, honey and pale malts. Restrained flavour profile of dried fruits, pear, and apricot on a backbone of malts. Slightly oily palate. Fine bodied. Okay, a little shy on the flavour (at home in Tromsø, 02.10.2014).
