Draught at de koffer groningen . Clear golden colour. Faint smell of hops and grains. Nothing special really. Medium body.

Ch’ti triple. The North French beers are well worth drinking. You notice that this area clearly correlates with the neighbouring Belgium. This golden beer with a flowery hop taste is an example of this and certainly good to drink.

Clear amber gold, medium white head. Nose is sweetness, some fruity hints, malt, booze. Taste is sweet, metallic, malts, boozy finish with caramel. Lingering alcohol bitterness. Thin to medium body, oily palate, somewhat prickly carbonation. Very drinkable, not bad. A triple this ain’t.

0.33l bottle. Leaving it alone long enough and it wants out of the bottle this. In the glass it’s what you can call a crystal clear one. It’s golden, deep golden in color and it a has a small quickly islandy bright white head. Smells a bit like oil and metal. Traces of white bright candied sugar and something floral. A bit of dental floss with some sweet fruit juice in the background. Not to extreme really but not bad either. It’s sharp metallic in the taste. Copper and oil before a medium strong alcohol sharpness kicks in. It’s above average on the almost creamy carbonation level and it feels oily in the mouth. It has some sort of fruit juice touch to it but I can’t put my finger on just what it is. All in all drinkable, but not something I will be having again. 27.03.2014

Couleur blanche trouble. Bonne mousse blanche. Nez malté. Gout assez leger de malt, petite amertume. Bonne petillance. Plutot une triple qu’une bière de garde.

Not much to say about this beer. This is a pretty mediocre tripel that lacks any great flavour or character even considering its alcohol hit. Disappointing.

This golden ale has little life in its lazy bubbling and dead head, but it fizzes up in the mouth like berium powder before an upper GI test. It has a flower and apple aroma with hints of honey sweetness. It’s mainly grainy malts, the apples, alcohol, and a hop bitterness that come through in the flavor. The finish is bitter... and alcohol dry. Yes, this is a bit of a disappointment.

From a 750 ml. brown bottle with what I am guessing is a bottling date since I know this was a new bottle, given to me by a liquor store manager/friend who wanted my opinion on a Belgian he just added. Sampled at a cellar temperature in a chalice. Poured a cloudy golden hued orange with a foamy white head that settled into a thin lacing, the most minimal amount of sticking, pretty standard appearance. Aromas of sulfur, grapes and apples, light sugar spices and whiffs of a fusel alcohol. Light, fizzy carbonation and a softly crisp, too soft for me, smooth light-medium bodied mouthfeel. For a tripel, I thought this was bland tasting overall, sulfur and bready, sugary pale malts, sour apple and green melon fruity, a very soft spicy hoppiness, the fusel alcohol flavor starts to show up just past the middle, and a dry yeasty and sweet malty finish, pretty much average drinkability for the tripel, nothing real stands out flavor wise from this ale. This tripel sells for $10.99 at bottle in my area, so I’m glad this was a freebie.
