2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 LaChad (1375) - San Francisco, California, USA - NOV 20, 2005
Bottle. Handsome looking calm, hazy golden with an eggshell head. Floral, orange rind, hints of lemon, and...auuugh, phenolic. It’s all downhill from here. Expiration date on the bottle says June 06, so no pity. I want my 800 Yen back.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Cletus (6025) - Connecticut, USA - AUG 26, 2005
Bottled. My label looks nothing like the one pictured, but the description, name and brewer are similar so this must be the right one. Pours coppery with no real head and only a faint hint of white lacing to give an idea as to what the head may be if it were prominent. Smells of apples, grapefruit and pepper. Tastes of apple juice, grapefruit, some slight nutmeggy notes, but otherwise very watery and bland. Disappointing.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 omhper (15600) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUL 27, 2005
Bottled. Bright golden. Bready malt aroma. Light bodied with buttery malt flavour and rounded mouthfeel. Low bitterness. Fresh and easy going unasssuming beer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Marko (2977) - Split, CROATIA - NOV 15, 2004
Very, very interesting. Smells..well different, the aroma was pretty heavy, somehow "oily". It had a big white head, which vanished really fast. Very fizzy at first. Lively carbonation. Nothing really strange, but somehow for me, fizzy and biere de garde didn’t go together. Clear golden body. Tastes... different (again)... somehow grainy, lemony (in a sour way, but nice). Maybe honeyish in the aftertaste too. Nothing too special, but definitely an above average beer. It’s possibly underrated. After Ch’Ti "Tripel" I didn’t expect much, so this came as a suprise. Nice owl on the label by the way.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 sayravai (4526) - Helsinki, FINLAND - OCT 20, 2004
UPDATED: JUN 17, 2006 (Bottled) Hazy, pale yellow color with a medium, mostly vanishing head. Mild, slightly sour, sweetish-malty aroma with lots of honey. Grassy-honeyish, slightly sweet-sour and lemony flavor with no hops or finish. Light-bodied, quite carbonated, slicky palate. A plain and dull, but very easily drinkable and somewhat refreshing blond ale.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 dornoy (694) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - OCT 14, 2004
White head, middle lasting, golden yellox body, nice aroma: this is a bière de garde! I was a bit doubting becase of the "organic" mention on the label, but I was not disappointed! This beer (made by the same folk as the "Ch’ti") is surprisingly good! Full taste, nice aroma, hoppy aftertaste, it’s got it all!
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 18/20 PhillyBeer2112 (2328) - Oviedo, Florida, USA - AUG 23, 2004
Surprised to see these low ratings. Poured lightly hazy, golden yellow, full foamy head. Wonderful floral and perfumed aroma of hops, maybe spices. Very nice. Flavor is less exciting, light palate, very very fizzy on the tongue, light acidity, dry finish. Some floral hops, bread dough. Like a beer soda pop - as in the soda pop for 18th and 19th century French farmers. Enjoyable and moderately quenching - I treated this as a lawnmower beer, literally, and I wasn’t disappointed. Dated 10/2002, my label differed from the one pictured above, instead it was this: http://www.beerlabels.com/labels/labels.pl/311/_b_
