COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Low double malt brew. Prestigious beer which reveals to the true connoisseur an exquisite balance between complete but not excessive flavour and a malty almost dry taste with a delicate tang of hops.
14.6°

Formerly known as Castello Birra Friulana Riserva Oro Planais.

A good-looking golden "doppio malto" with enough character and a round, balanced taste. Better than I expected, actually.

Bottled 330ml. -Courtesy of heavy (thanks!) Golden coloured, small to medium sized white head, light malty nose with hint of caramel. Sweet malty, caramel and light grainy with some notes of alcohol in rather dusty finish. Average Italian macro.

28/08 0.33 l bottle from Coop store, Gradisca d’Isonzo. It poured golden body with small head that lived short. Very weak malty aroma, almost non existent. Flavor is malty as well, sweetish of course, slightly unclean. Medium body. Not overly sweet, even in the finish which even showed some light coffee notes that are not excepted to be here. Slightly alcoholic throughout whole flavor. Strange and hard to define, but in general not bad, highly drinkable heller bock.

Castello Bionda Doppio Malto. Castello seems to change the names all the time. Great. Anyway, courtesy of heavy (thanks!). Poured a golden body with a small white head. Very light stale herbal nose, bit oily. Slightly soapy malty grainy taste, somehow... nice. Slightly dusty. No alcohol presence. Clean and drinkable despite light flaws - more than I expected!

330ml bottle. Nice little surprise this one. Crisp golden amber colour with a modest even pearly white head. Aromas of grain and straw and tastes a lot more robust than it looks. Smooth in the mouth with a good finish.

Nice solid grippy and malty brew. Very suprised it is not elsewhere on this site. Big malts and robust flavour.

Thanks to SkyCop32 for bringing this one back from Northern Italy. Pours a deep dark gold color. Aromas of fruit, malt, a touch of hops, and apple. Flavor big strong malt, hops, and a touch of menthol like quality. Strong malt and hop aftertaste.

A very bland lager beer brewed by this indipendent brewery. The taste is nothing to write home about, and it loses itself amongst other such produce.

A Mes rate: Bottle from somewhere in Italy. Malty nose. Cardboard flavour. Have to rush out and buy some of this for Rudiger.
