Bottle from Yamaya. Thick sweet aroma, spicy malt, like a doppelbock or a barrel-aged beer. Dark brown with reddish tint. Sweet caramelized sugar initial; roast character and some hop balance come outin mid; finish is mild, a bit tangy and metallic, and has a bit of alc. warmth. Medium body. Nicely balanced. Not over the top with the sweetness. Very pleasant and drinkable.

Thanks Juraj for this! Lidl, Jesolo. Red-brown. Sweetish malty nose, quite correct and pleasant, more of the same in the taste though, malt dominated yet surprisingly drinkable. Not bad.

330ml bottle. Dark brown color. Tiny head, disappears rather quickly. Malty, caramel, burnt sugar in aroma. Grainy, burnt sugar, ashy caramel in flavor. Slick mouthfeel. Nasty thing. Never again.

330ml bottle (Stockmann, Tallinn)
Sweet caramelly aroma, but then turns savoury - yeasty maybe, or meaty. Smooth palate, dare I say umami, OK carbonation. Has a flavour. That’s about as positive as I can be about it. Meaty yeasty flavour. But sweet too. A messy finish, all of the flaws of the taste . Not super-nasty, but really not nice at all.

Malt and caramel with a dash of spice mix. Tastes like xmas beer. Beautiful strong earl grey tea color. No head. Flat carbonation, but when savored opens up and is rather pleasant. As for the finish - reminds of rauchbier. Not the best example of dunkler bock, but still is a good beer.

Red beer with a beige head. Nose is malt, light spice, caramel and vague fruit. Taste has malt and caramel with thin fruitiness, some sweet hints. Bitter alcohol with malts and some vague hops dryness in the finish. Medium body, medium carbonation, oily palate. Drinkable.

Small brown bottle. Copper body with a minimal head. Light toast and nuttiness in the aroma. Taste is too watery for a Dunkler Bock. This is similar to something that you’d get when you added water to a real Dunkler Bock. It’s a toasty Vienna at best. However, it would probably be a nice find in a random Italian store that otherwise sells only pale lagers.

330ml bottle. Light brown with quite a frothy head. Toasted malt, caramel and some plum sweetness in the aroma. That and unfortunately some wet rag. Watery, though less than their pale lager, with the caramelly and toasted malt base present, and some light bitterness in the finish. Not too bad, though resembling a watery dunkel more than a dark bock.

Bubbly beige head, rich malty taste with a hint of butterscotch. Very drinkable as well, superb beer, a pleasant surprise.
