500ml bottle. Pours a clear darkish gold, with a small white head, which lasts reasonably well, but leaves little lacing. Sweet malt and adjunct notes along with some faint fruity hops make up the aroma. Mild fruity hops up front lead into some corn bread and plain cake flavours. The finish is probably a little over-sweet. Another uninspiring lager.

This African Lager pours fast with a bubbly head that disapears quite fast. It has adark yellow complexion with fat carbon bubbles floating. The beer is a little bitter on the tongue and then has an abrupt finish. The flavor is mild, but it makes a refreshing beer on a warm summer day.

dead trans gold body, dead corn nose, watery. Strong corn in flavor. Lightly buttery, oily finish, toast. Nothing from nothing

Can shared by Travlr. Pours clear pale straw with a medium, fizzy white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma and flavor are corn, grain, meal, and spicy hops. Light body, warmth, and carbonation with a dry finish.

33cl can, thanks Travlr. Small white head atop crystal clear pale straw body. Aroma is medium sweet, skunk, some lemon, vegetal. taste is medium sweet, cereal, vegetal, some skunk. Light body, minimal carbonation. It’s been a while since I’ve given out a perfect 0.5 -- thanks Gene for finding this gem!

Can thanks to Travlr. Pours a clear straw with a serious white head that diminishes very quickly. Aroma is corn, sort of off-character like DMS, celery, brocolli. Taste is sweet water, not as sugary as Manica, more suddy and soapy. More of your run-of-the-mill macro.

OK, this is very bizarre. When I travel with Steptin, we are constantly amazed at how similarly we rate beers. Now here I am in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, drinking a local Castle lager, which I rated as a 2.2. Then to my shock and amazement, when I return to the hotel room to enter my rating, I find that Bierkrug has given him the same beer, and you’ll never guess what he’s rated it. And the most amazing thing is that it was far more interesting to read this story than it was to rate yet another underwhelming developing world lager.

My first beer from Tanzania (and Africa) - a huge thanks to Bierkrug for bringing this my way! Smell is pleasent, sugars, slight honey. Taste is very plain, but drinkable. This would definitely quench your thirst on a hot day!

500 ml bottle in Kenya. Clear yellow color with a white head. Aroma is malts and light paper. Taste is very light malt with some hops. Palate is sweet and light followed by slight sourness. Not offensive at all, just not much to it.
