Cirrhosis (550), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jun 8, 2009 Pure gold colored body with a moderate sized white cap, retention wasn’t too bad, and there where tons of bubble columns coming up from the bottom of the glass, nice looking beer. Very malty aroma, no trace of skunk just a smooth malty sent with a touch of slightly sour banana. Taste is strong all most to strong and its all malt, beer goes down smooth but has a savage bitterness in the finish luckily it only lasts a few seconds. Sweet bready after taste is left lingering in the mouth, mouth feel wasn’t too bad either medium bodied and good carbonation. Not a bad beer, not really a good beer, all say better than most lagers out there but nothing I really would ever crave or go out of my way to pick up. My marks seem to high!" Hansen (2102), Randers, Denmark Jun 3, 2009 Pale yellow and clear. White head, mostly lasting. Aroma is very faint, sweet, corn. Flavor is moderate sweet, no bitterness. A bit unpleasent. Vertical Bacon Strips (581), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada May 27, 2009 Hate to say it, but this stuffs on my rotation. Drain ’em in a hurry too. Easy drinking simple beer. Nice thick fluffy head on todays pour, not much action in the glass tho.. straw yellow. not much aroma, but doesnt stink like my old hockey equipment either, so thats not a bad thing. I like the grassy lemon flavour alot, to bad its a bit thin on the finish. Grassy, lemony, grassy , lemony...thats why i keep getting it - oh and at 11$-12$ for 6 500ml cans, the price is more than right (considering the outrageous beer prices in Edmonton). One of the few canned brew I purchace regularly. Get drunk on it too, like soooo many others.....cheers! jkm (189), Australia Apr 13, 2009 330ml brown bottle. Clear watery golden colour with a very thin white head. Refreshing, clean taste, slightly malty, no complex flavours, low bitterness. Not bad but not great. Gary (294), London, Greater London, England Mar 18, 2009 Updated: Mar 21, 2009Some of the worst hangovers Ive ever had came of this .Back in my ’try every lager import’ days. This would go down ok @ the cricket.I’m sure SA could get some good beers out -if anyone could getta decent micro scene going.Grainy -dry,overly sweet carboard malt flavours.Apple esters. Not as chemecially as I rememember it being. bierslaaf (33), Cape Town, South Africa Mar 14, 2009 340 ml can at CTI airport. Pours clear gold colour with big frothy diminishing head. Malt and maize in the aroma. Very fizzy on the palate with the trademark SAB maize taste. Good bitterness with malt and hop in the finish. Actually better than I expected (have not had a Castle in years) RuneStumo (287), FØRRESFJORDEN, Norway Feb 28, 2009 31.12.2004, 0,33l Bottle. Golden yellow colour.
