Compares favorably with Kingfisher, although not quite as available. If you like at least a bit of a beer taste, seek this out over Haywood.

Another dreadful lager. Standard gold colour with a white head. Aroma with a trace of stale hops followed by a slightly sweet malt flavour. poor.

Bottle, courtesy after4ever. This is a very pale lager. Light aroma of nuts and flowery hops. Taste is flowery as well, otherwise, pretty much your run of the mill, adjuncted pale lager.

330. Thanks, Maria! This gives me a South Africa when I haven’t had one in the past. Pours nearly transparent pale straw color; this is the apartheid of pale lagers, evidently. Thin fizzy white head. Very mild nose of ever-so-slight perfume and maybe a bit of must. Gentle attack: watery, lightly fizzy, subdued flavors. Not much happening on the mid-palate...a little corn flavor (though, thankfully, no DMS seems evident), a little perfumey acridity, and kind of a messy bitter bite to the finish. Kind of puts me in the mood to watch a Springboks game.

I tried this on July 2, 2007 after purchasing it from my local LCBO store. It poured nicely into the glass with very little head, what head there was was gone very quickly. The colour is a medium gold colour, and translucent. Carbonation is constant. The aroma is malty and was constant throughout. The mouthfeel is crisp with mild carbonation. The taste is mellow with hints of malt and grains. An enjoyable beer.

Pale golden body with a medium sized head that disapears fast. Aroma is little sour and reminds me of fermenting apples. Flavor is malty and little plumlike, like in many trappists, but a boozy taste takes over. It has a metallic aftertaste. Palate is medium thick and dont have so muck carbonation.

a level down from the other two pilsner i had tonight, but on par with most macros and quite befitting of its mother company, sabmiller. clear golden with white head, it is not too bad, but not crispy and hoppy enough for a lager.
