An example of why the aroma is worth too much. This beer smells very bad, but the taste, while very simple, is decent enough, with a good hopbite at the end. Yet, because of aroma, I scored this less that Hoppy Face Amber Ale, but I’d definitely rather drink this again.

The best selling lager in S.A. Clean light yellow colour. White head. Weak aroma of corn and a touch of citrus with a little maltiness. Bitter hoppy somewhat fruity flavour though thin mouthfeel. Ok bitter aftertaste.

500ml can, bright yellow color, with an off-white head, the nose is one of fresh floral hops, sweet pale malt, faint note of corn in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a crisp pale malt character, with a wet hay accent, a faint honeyish note, leading towards a watery subtle hoppy finish.

[Bottle] Golden colour. Fluffy head. Aroma is dough, yeast and some glue. Medium bodied with dry, grassy bitterness. Tastes like Heineken.

Bottle from my brother in law. Pours yellowy straw colored with a thin tan head. Smells of mellow hops with some doughy yeast and spicy malt present. Taste is of citrus, earthy hops and pilsner malt. Finish is bitter.

Short stiff head. Metallic smell, watery flavor with a watery finish. A very standard cheap lager, easy to forget.

Poured a lifeless clear pale orange with a short lived head. A very doughy aroma to begin, and then some corn and sugary alcohol. Some metallic bitterness initially, but this seems to subside quite soon and I’m left with a bit of a sweet concoction. Medium carbonation level, but it still struggles to break up the adjunct sweetness, leaving me in fear of rotting teeth. A pleasure to finish.

Bottled. Yellow colour with a fizzy white head. Sweet aroma of corn, and sugar with notes of metal. The flavour is watery with touches of corn, straw and metal. Near no bitterness in the bland aftertaste.
