A smooth and refreshingly light lager. A perfect beer for hot summer days. Extremely drinkable! Pours from the can a golden colour with fruity aroma. I’m baffled how anyone could give this beer a score less than ten. Come on, Castle is what it is: a light tasty lager suitable for hot climates. On hot sunny days push away the Silver Bullet Piss and reach for a Caslte.

From a 11.5 oz. long neck brown bottle with a list of ingredients on the neck label and no bottled/freshness date. Made a typical macro lager appearance, poured a clear macro lager golden with a sudsy white head. Had a nose of corn husks with little else. A weakly crisp, but watery smooth light bodied mouthfeel, below average drinkability. Corny and husky with that sweet lager maltiness, weak and watery tasting overall. That is not much here that makes it worth trying or recommending.

Can, brewed at Tanzanian Breweries. Golden, with a small, white head. Mild, mostly floral aroma, and a thin flavor of malt and some hops. Thin body, and a bitter and metallic finish. Quite boring, and not too pleasant. (060604)

typical lager - perfect for the hot climate in South Africa. When served bitterly cold an extremely refreshing beverage

Yellow colored, lively carbonation. Big white head. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor is better with fruits, sweetness and hops, aftertaste lasts with drying hops.

450 mL can: Pale colour with thin white head that disappears almost instantly. A definite hoppy or fruity aroma which doesn’t lie: there is something sweet in the taste, with no bitter after-taste (a bonus). The cynic will call this a watery beer: but what do you want from a pale lager from South Africa?! Very drinkable, but decent body & flavour, and very clean finish for a lager. Right on for hot weather & summer snacks.
