Castle Lager

Canette de 450 ml achetée à la LCBO de North Bay, Ontario. Arôme: Odeur de maïs et de gazon. Apparence: Couleur jaune foncée. Large col mousseux. Moyenne densité des bulles. Large dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goût de céréales avec une légère touche de sucré. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture crémeuse. Moyenne effervescence en bouche. Arrière goût d’houblons. Bottle. South Africa...oh yeah. Pours very light and fizzy, with a white head. Minimal hops, very watery and weak. Too bad they were out of this brewery’s milk stout, but the second half of the road to 100 countries is fraught with brews like this one. Rice, hay, no finish of any kind.

Clear pale straw colour with thick rocky white head. Tangy malt and yeast nose. Tangy light malt taste with slighly bitter dry finish.

pours a golden color lots of champagne like bubbles and a small sticky well laced white head. very mild almost non existant aroma of a little grain and some light honey. Palate was thin and overly carbonated but coated fairly well. Flavor is pretty bland, some light malt bread and grains.. a bit of stale cardboard comes out as it warms.

This is the first beer i ever drank so i thought i’d start on this. Pure golden shimer with a healthy hearty head. The taste will have a slight bitterness,and a complimenting smell, while at the end it tends to leave a dry yet smooth after taste. It does the trick at your next braai or bbq.

Nothing to look at, don’t smell it, overly carbonated, some malts, drinkable in palce of pop on a hot summer night. Honest, I would not have bought it unless there was no beer left in the house and this was it, and I was stuck and thirsty in South Africa. It was a gift from a South African.

Poured a sudsy yellow with a slight malt aroma. Not much head or lace. Went down smooth but didn’t really stimulate the palate. For a bland lager, which it is trying to be, it’s not horrible I guess.

Another country, another non-descript Lager. Pale golden color with tiny bubbles and a thin white head that was gone in the blink of an eye. No lacing apparent. Sweet aroma. Light-bodied with vague sweetcorn and malt flavoring. The finish is short with musty hops. Needless to say I won’t bother getting this again.
