Pale golden color with tiny bubbles and a thin white head that was gone in the blink of an eye. No lacing apparent. Sweet aroma. Light-bodied with vague sweetcorn and malt flavoring. The finish is short with musty hops. Needless to say I won’t bother getting this again. scotty (830), Scotland

Compare it to the mass market lagers available in every offie and it wins hands down, I admit it’s not Budvar or Urquell but it’s clean smooth and malty, and has some character, which is more than can be said for Tennents/Bud/etc, etc. Oh,and it is actually brewed in South Africa. | 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jul 7, 2005 Am I becoming obsessive? Every time I see a beer from a new country, I have to try it. And nearly every time its a bog standard pale lager. And every time, my comments are essentially the same. And then I put off drinking it because I know I won’t be impressed. I suppose I only have myself to blame. Standard gold colour. Perhaps a shade darker than your average world lager. Not very pronounced carbonation - no head to speak of. The aroma is, of course, adjuncty with wet cardboard highlights. I thought I caught a fleeting glimpse of some sweetish hop but I could be wrong. Dull flavour and dull mouthfeel. A hint of bite comes in on the finish but its too little, too late. Not undrinkable but thin and lacking character. I’ve had worse.

Pleasant and easy to drink a lot of! Not very complicated at all, but one of the nicest lagers I’ve had. Magicdave6 (5490), London, Greater London, England

Its like super fizzy without any head, and a sort of really bad sweetness to it. looks terrible tastes terrible. Supposed to be south africa’s best beer, well they can keep it there then. | 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jun 9, 2005 12 oz bottle - I bought this for a lawnmower beer and that is just what it is. Pours golden with a fair white head. It all goes down hill from here.. Terrible skunk aroma let me spend about 10 seconds sniffing it before I was disgusted. Flavor was sugary sweet corn. Light on the palate. Quenched my thirst after lawn mowing but water might have been the better choice.. beaconstreet (811), Washington DC, USA

Somewhat quality, but again in light of the price. Almost a baked foods feel and taste to it. Strange. Tanglible carbonation and hops, which battle each other.
