1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
First beer ever tasted when emigrated to SA in 1972 at the time it was 25c a bottle. Is available in England from time to time, never in Scotland. Not as good as the offers from Namibian breweries also owned by SAB Miller. Gues the Namibians learnt well from the Germans.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Old rating, bottle at the student pub. Better than many of the African macro lagers. Not a favourite style but decent for the style

1 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Can purchased in Malawi as a change from the local beers. Looks like beer but tastes like bubbly corn water. No aroma. Any malt or hops are well hidden behind corn and soap. Not very pleasant. I may just turf it in favor of the local rot gut gin as a night cap...

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
330ml bottle @ Shrewsbury Beer Share, May 15, courtesy of myself. Pours clear gold. Sweetish euro-lager taste. Inoffensive palette cleanser.

On the palate, it is also light and could not taste the hops...

2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Apr 2015 - 330ml bottle from the Savanna shop, 5.0%, BB Sep 2015, brewed in RSA. The world’s best bottled lager in 2000 apparently. I just bought this out of interest because they sponsor the Springboks. Pale orange, clear, lightly sparkling, small white head. Aroma is a little meaty, musty, doughy, touch of sick maybe. Body is medium, slightly foamy, lowish carbonation. Taste is tangy, quite dry, not overly sweet (as advertised), a little bitter. Musty, papery, maybe a touch of rosemary. Not bad if you prefer a dry lager over a sweet one. Fine, drinkable.

0.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
Canned during Malawi vacation. This was one of the worst beers I’ve ever had. Aroma and taste had powerful notes of boiled vegetables, rotting notes mixed with pale malt.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle 33cl. Clear medium golden, big frothy white head, good retention and lacing; sweet malty nose, corn, grass; taste medium sweet, light bitter, bit soapy; light to medium body, oily texture, average carbonation, aftertaste light bittersweet, cardboard, bit artificial; all in all disappointing.

1.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Burk från kollega. Drucken ur burken... Söt lager med metallburkskänsla... Sötare än väntat annars helt enligt plan...
