Yet another "international lager" with absolutely no personality, or taste for that matgter. Watery, pale with diminishing head. The aroma there is contains hints of cardboard and...well overcooked veggies.

Clear golden color with minimal white head vanished quickly. Aroma is malty, sweet corn. Taste is malty, metal and watery. Light body. Thin texture. Overall just another typical lager.

Gammel 340ml flaske. Klar lys brum med fingerhøyt offwhite skum. legger meg på snittet, for denne var ødelagt. Eddik i lukt og smak.....

330ml can. Pours clear yellow with a small white head. Aroma is corn, metal, malt. Taste is grain and metal, which becomes more apparent as the beer heats up.

Lager look, clear golden, just bit lacing on top. Bit stuffy, grain, dry, vegetables. Crisp but watery, standard carbonation, surprisingly sweet, light body, short, alcohol bit surprisingly evident, lightly spicy. Maybe this works on a hot day. Ok, nothing special, this is wet beer.

440 ml can from Co-Op Liquor, served in my 590 ml Great Western tall glass. Pours a clear golden straw hue with faint, large-bubbled carbonation and a puffy, milky head that disappears more slowly than most, leaving a few soapy lace spots behind. Aroma is a familiar lagerish profile with wet, mildly sweet cereal grains and earthy hops, with wet straw and grass; flavor is barely sweet at all, but mostly saltine-crackery and a touch salty and peppery, with some papery hints and a faint sour note. Thin-bodied, brief finish. Not offensive, and actually reminiscent of decent Euro pilsners, but seems to be missing something. Perhaps it’s made to compliment South African cuisine.

Bottle at home, golden beer, medium head. Aroma is grain, malt, sweet. Taste is some grain and malt, light sweetness. For a pale lager not bad, easy drinkable no horrible aftertaste... wow i expected worse.

Bottle. Clear golden body with no head or lacing. Steady carbonation. Aroma of honey, wort and wet grass. Flavour of sweet malt and sugary water. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. Overly sweet and not very good.

Backlog from 11.04.12 in Cape Town. "At SAB Miller’s Newlands Brewery tap (’The Provincial Arms’), with a sample of their fermented maize liquid. Castle Lager on draught. Pale golden in colour, shiningly bright and persistent white head, which appearance is bordering to artificial. Highly carbonated. Some hop aroma. Taste of sugary water with a somewhat slimy mouthfeel. Slightly crude aftertaste with hints of bitterness. More tasty and bitter than the bottled version, although that doesn’t take much to achieve."
