2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Sweet vanilla on the nose with hints of roasted malts. Pours black with a thin tan head that dissipates quickly. Sweet vanilla upfront with milk chocolate roasted malts, a little thin but the taste isnít half bad.

pours thin and brown with not much head. not a horrible nose. some roasted malts and condensed milk. tastes more like a weak brown ale with a mouthfeel even more watery than other decent brown ales. not a good example of the style.

Bottled 625ml. -Ghana version. Almost black coloured, medium sized pale brown head, very pleasant chicory chocolate nose. Mild roasted malt, chocolate and coffee with strong and unpleasant metallic notes near the end. Begins well but the finish is huge letdown. Pitty.

Can, in Vietnam. Pours pitch black with a tan head that dissipates pretty fast. Aroma is rich with chocolate and toasted barley, and smells like Horlicks or Ovaltine. Medium carbonation and a medium body. Pretty quaffable. Flavors are straight and delicious with lots of mocha. Slight mineral water and lactic acid emerge late in the finish. Good balance of sweet and bitter. Better than expected.

Bottle. Creamy, light flavor. Slightly roasty, creamy aroma. Malts rather disappointing. Sweet with roasting; lacking complexity. Full body, but flavor is not much to speak of, really. Uninteresting, though drinkable.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Black body with a lasting, short light tan head. Some early notes of cocoa then roasted notes in the aroma. Similar in the taste, low to medium body, pretty straight forward and easy to drink.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
My best beer in all of South Africa. Gem of a find at a Shebeen on the edge of the Kruger. Can was discolored and dented but the beer seemed fine. Nice milk stout, good fullness in the body with a slightly sweet roasted flavour.

Beer has a milky foamy head and a black body, little bubble coming up too. Aroma is just some scent of cardboard and alcohol, with a little hint of milk it would seem. Flavour is very smooth and crisp taste, milkiness as the bottle mentions. Great for quaffing but lacking in complexity. Overall a good stout with a unique milk flavour that doesnít seem forced.
