COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Choice barley grain is slow roasted to produce a rich dark brew. A unique blend of hops adds a touch of bitterness and a special yeast fixes the unmistakable flavor and creamy head.
Also comes in a license brewed version by Tanzania Breweries and in Vietnam by SAB’s subsidiary in Da Nang.

Stout beer, black in color, good head, VERY good aroma. Glides down your throat like guinness, but is very differnt taste wise. Despite all the good things about this beer, i would never buy one again. Horrible aftertaste, and lingering stench if you get it on your hands.

At just on cool and into a tulip. Pour is shy but raises a thin, compact and mostly lasting tannish crown. Body is black, opaque with just a little darkest brown in the shallows. Aroma is soft and pleasant and reminiscent of milk chocolate and dusty, roasted grains. Chalky, smoky roasted grain palate. Quite nutty with a hint of cocoa butter adding a sweetness to it but no slickness. The finish is husky and smoky, dry and subtley bitter. Quite simple, pleasing and quaffable. Nice body, not big, not small, and quite smooth. Better than anticipated. (75cL, BB 14/06/12, Cellarbrations Kinross)

340 ml bottle. Pours very dark brown with light brown head that dissappears quickly. Leaves ring around glass edge. Aroma of sweet malt and milk. Tree tomatoes? Acidic. Taste of smooth sweet malty sweetness. Slight bitterness comes through. Very drinkable.

Nice and sweet aftertaste. A lot nicer than Guiness in my opinion. Now available on tap as well!

340 ml bottle shared by Travlr: Pours a transparent dark mahogany with a thin ring of spotty-lacing off-white head. Has a sweet roasty dark caramel and lactose nose. Starts with decent fullness and lightly sweet sugary body with some milk chocolate notes before a drier roasty finish.

Great example of a milk stout and the best product SAB puts out. Prefer it in bottle than on nitrogen tap. Great sweet molasses aroma and tastes like Christmas in a bottle!

Can. Pours a dark black color with a frothy tan head. Dark malty aroma with a sense of vanilla. Silky aroma as well. Nice, smooth, mily taste with some hops in the background. Very pleasant. For a South African beer, I’m very impressed.

Bottle. Availabe in several African countries. Coffee and chocolate aroma. Dark brown colour with light brown head. Soft and creamy mouthfeel. Sweet flavour with some bitter coffee notes. An OK alternative to the Guiness.

340mL thanks to Travlr. The pour is a clear cola ruby with a gray head. Nose is heavy old apple and dirt. Taste is apple with dirt and huge earthy astringency. Headache inducing. Tastes like eating dirt. Disgusting.
