patrick767 (1403), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Jun 16, 2008 tap at the brewpub - Pours dark brown with a lingering tan head. There’s very little aroma, just a little malt. The flavor is of toasted caramel malt. It’s kind of a weak flavor with a too thin body. Meh.
awaisanen (1136), Irvine, California, USA Oct 30, 2007 On tap at the brewery. Dark brown, mostly transparent pour with a thick head of tan foam. Heavy notes of chocolate waft from the glass, along with some buttery toffee. Some gentle fruity esters present, mainly in the form of prune. Medium bodied, creamy carbonated mouthfeel. Much too heavy on the chocolate, giving it a heavy, weighing, almost baltic porter like flavor. Tastes like pilsner malt and chocolate malt, with a sharp, lagery finish, but with diacetyl. Not a great example of the style, nor a great tasting beverage relative to the other offerings. ultraspank (856), Dublin, Ohio, USA Oct 25, 2007 Had this on tap last night while bar hopping with my bud Robert in Seoul. Nose of cereal and grain, and caramel. This brew is a dark brown with garnet highlights. The mostly diminishing tan frothy head has good lace. The flavor is grainy and toasted. The acidity is light to medium. The bready finish is slightly sweet with notes of caramel. The medium body is creamy and lively. The finish feels dry. tomciccateri (447), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Sep 5, 2007 On draught at the brewery, pours a dark brown color with a thick tan head. Medium-bodied. Dark malty flavor with a roasted character. Slight hop bitterness with effervescent mouthfeel. A bit carbonated but overall OKAY.
