patrick767 (1449), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Jun 16, 2008 tap at the brewpub - Pours amber with a lasting, medium sized head. It’s malty and has a decent though uncomplicated flavor. It’s medium bodied and finishes a little dry. Like some other reviewers, I’m not sure it’s a schwarzbier, but it’s a decent middle of the road lager.
awaisanen (1157), Irvine, California, USA Oct 30, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. Mostly transparent, coppery amber pour with a thick layer of creamy ivory head. Subtle nutty malt notes present up front, accompanied by a healthy herbal hop bouquet and some of the lager yeast "sulpher" character I noticed with their other beers. Light bodied, crisply carbonated mouthfeel. Actually a bit overly dry, the nutty caramel notes flee quickly, replaced by a paraching dry finish of bitter herbal hops. This is my first example of the style, so I didn’t really have any way to gauge this, but it certainly has much in common with Altbier. With a bit more malt to chew on, this would make a refreshing treat. ultraspank (856), Dublin, Ohio, USA Oct 25, 2007 Had this on tap last night while hanging out with my bud Robert in Seoul. Very floral nose of dried fruit. The brew is a caramel amber. The creamy off white head is mostly diminishing with good lace. The brew starts balanced with a slightly sweet and tart middle with medium acidity. The finish is both light and brief. The light to medium body is dry and very lively. The finish feels very astringent. I’m not sure exactly what style this is, but I’m sure of what it isn’t; and this isn’t a Schwarzbier. My best guess is that this is a dark lager. tomciccateri (463), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Sep 5, 2007 On draught at the brewery, pours a deep reddish brown with early hop flavor and bitterness throughout. Malty flavor with a nice blend of hops and malt. A very nice "red" lager. RateandPillage (417), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Apr 20, 2005 Reddish-brown in color with a good off-white head. Quite light in color for a Schwarzbier, but I guess it is probably quite dark for South Korea. Maltiness and spiciness in the aroma and flavor. I would maybe classify it more as a Dunkelweizen. Pretty good, but nothing special.
