Cask Conditioned at The Castle, Furnival St., London
Mahogany color, small head. There is some chocolate/vanilla aroma, even stronger flavor; strong caramel flavor too; correct bitterness. Not bad, but a bit artificial.

A Mes rate. Gravicask at Pigs Ear. Dark amber with a good beige head and excellent condition. A strange blend of floral and chocolate. Rather straight forward and little else happening other than the chocolate but it’s just really tasty. More floral notes in the finish. Unusual and enjoyable.

Cask stillage, Pigs Ear 2008. Nice chocolate flavour, quite dry finish. More cocoa than chocolate, perhaps. It lacks the body to carry the extra flavouring.

UPDATED: DEC 3, 2008 Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. This is the November beer in the Castle Rock Natural Selection supporting The Wildlife Trusts, which is a good cause. Dark amber with an off white head. Sweet malt aroma. Taste is sweet and woody with a hint of grainy malt. Sharp bitter finish. Unusual and rather good.
