Cask; Special (Natural Selection series) - October 2006.
A dark biscuity brew with a full pumpkin added to the 'mash'. A very spooky brew!

Cask at The Wellington, Birmingham. Red-brown in colour with a very little foamy head. Also lacking in scent, maybe some raisin in there. Quite flat. Slightly bitter. Aromas of coffee, hops and dark chocolate. (I wrote these notes before knowing it was supposed to taste of pumpkin.)

Cask (handpump) at the Yorkshire Terrier, York, October 2006. Dark ruby colour. Smooth, creamy, off-white head. Pretty smooth and creamy on the palate too. Sweetish, with lots of caramel, touches of liquorice and spice, and a little late bitterness. Can’t say I picked the pumpkin.

Cask Conditioned at the Market Porter, Borough, London. Dark chesnut colour. Moderate bitter aroma with rustic malts & musk as a back drop. Drinkable but not the best on show.
