Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular
A dark mild ale with a slight bitterness but without undue sweetness. A recipe that appeals to both established mild drinkers and also the younger palate.

Cask at the GBBF 2008. Black colour, reddish brown in the highlights. Lovely complex aroma, roasted malts, oak, dark fruits, chocolate and liquorice. Nicely balanced flavour between the malts and hops, there is an assertive bitterness but it is not overdone.

Cask conditioned at The Woolpack, Banbury Beer Fest ’08. Dark brown with white head. In a festival of flavours, this type of beer tends to struggle, but taken on its own its a decent, bog standard mild, some roasty malted notes, no big flavours although some fruitiness. Pretty good for what it is supposed to do.

Cask at GBBF08. Clear very dark brown colour. Slightly roasted flavour, and also a bit rough. Not a lot of sweetness.

Cask@GBBF2008.- Very deep amber colour, close to black, with a mediumsized whbrown head. Aroma is coffee, roasted malts, some mild caramel as well as mild licorice. Flavour is roast, fruity malts, some yeast and a bunch of wood. Aftertaste is dominated by roasted malts and some fruits.

Draught. Low but quickly disappearing off-white head. Very dark red brown body. Weak coffee aroma and flavor with just a bit of bitterness. Low carbonation, metallic long aftertaste.
