COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Regular
A dark mild ale with a slight bitterness but without undue sweetness. A recipe that appeals to both established mild drinkers and also the younger palate.

UPDATED: OCT 17, 2005 Dec, 2003. Gravity fresh @ Pig’s Ear Festival, East London. Rather dull and muddy mild. A smokey red berry fruit aroma. Clean and refreshing, but fairly dull. [2.5]
Oct, 2005. Wallington Fest. Caramel tinged session bitter with juicy low citric notes coming through in the finish to linger pleasantly, developing into faint roasted notes. Difficult to get a grip on this one, but generally - while not being bad - I wasn’t impressed. [2.8]

Draft. Clear dark brown beer. Soft palate. Very well balanced. Just a touch sour which makes it interesting. Malty sour with a little hop. Semi dry finish.

Cask at the Edgar Wallace. Pours a dark, ruby-brown with a slight, beige foam. Charming aroma, definitely some citrusy, resiny hops in there. Nice flavor, a tad soapy but some nice grapefruit, slight bread, juicy oranges. Weird, delicious, but nothing like the milds I know. More like a black IPA I’d say. Light to medium in body with fine to average carbonation. Some nice, understated bitterness in the finish, very citrusy with faint malts and fainter roast. The only thing holding this beer back are the soap notes. Otherwise, great stuff.

Ruby shades to a pitch black body. Tiny, lacing head. Aroma of dark malts. Blended flavour of grainy malts and blood oranges added by a touch of spices. Malt bitterness to the ending. Watching Spain against Netherlands at Mr Foleys Cask Ale House in Leeds, 11.07.2010.

Cask. Aroma is roasted malt with some caramel, darkest brown, a touch of red at the sides, some lace too. Flavour is a roast malt, again some caramel with a touch of toffee. Light bodied, very well balanced, creamy smooth, like suppin’ a Caramac bar with a bit of toast. Lovely!

These notes are written in such a fair condition that I don’t even try to find out what they are saying. There’s definitely a smiley face used in a sentence. I think it is a plus.

Cask at In de Wildeman. Clear reddish black colour, soapy head. Aroma of light roasted malts, caramel, light laurel. Flavour is sweet, some laurel, light roasted malts, ending in a bit skunky grainy bitter finish. Oily mouthfeel, light bodied. Onset is good, finish is bad.
