Of the three golden ales sampled at the same time (the others were Old Mill Summer Sunshine and Rudgate Last Taste), this one was the clear winner. Pale golden colour. Very floral aroma. Crisp and tasty with plenty of grassy hoppy character and tangy bite. Very refreshing. Cask (handpump), The Alexandra, Derby.

Cask Stillage at the RUFC, Bromsgrove 16/07/2005 Clear golden coloured and hoppy. Crisp slightly wheaty flavours and a malt finish.

Cask handpump at the Swan in the Rushes, Loughborough. Golden colour with a creamy white head. Floral aroma. Nice hoppy bitter taste with some light fruit in there as well. Medium bodied, very drinkable.

Cask conditioned - handpump - Alexandra Derby. A golden coloured beer served in good condition providing a nice white head even with the sparkler off. The aroma is a nice balance of hop and malt, whilst the good bodied taste has peaches, lemons and lots of hops. Castle Rock do go Goldens.
