Market Porter. Perfectly bright golden with a thin white head. The aroma is malty but kind of bland as well. Thin and a bit sweet. Kind of oddly underattenuated with very little in the way of hop aroma. Sweet and sticky with a lot of sugary character kicking around. Meh - pretty shitty.

Cask, The Longstop, Leicester. Golden with a thin white head. Aromas are apricot jam with sulphur and lemon. Lychee with underlying caramel. Floral with soft spiced oranges. Flavours are sweet jammy lemon with some grapefruit and pine bitterness. Quite cloying in a pleasant way. Dry with sweet hops to finish. Peppery alcohol on the palate. Pretty good. As an aside it’s good to have another Leicester real ale pub.
