Cask in the Elephant and Castle W8. Pale golden, loose white foam. Another golden ale? Actually more than that, crisp malt, slightly grainy, goid texture. Dry bitterness, sherbety feel, lemon, floral. Absurdly quaffable. Nice pint.

Cask at the Hog & Partridge, St Neots. Pale gold, clear, a bit of loose white head. Light aromas of lemon and candy sugar. Bittersweet taste, with lovely floral (and less lovely buttery) overtones. Slight bitterness in the short finish. Palette has a little bit more body than I expected. Good enough.

Gravity cask at In de wildeman. Clear gold pour with cask head. Aroma is quite grainy, toasty, light leafy hop. Taste is malty, nice English malt, sweet honey notes, light bitter mineral character, bready notes that leave a long lingering aftertaste. Palate is light bodied, thin carbonation. I’m not blown away by this beer but it somehow tastes quite classic, and nobody twisted my arm to finish a half.
