Appearance: Dispensed a light yellow body, essentially clear, with a white, sudsy head.

Smell: Sweet-scented golden barley, faintly floral, and a very low fruitiness giving a hint of a thin white wine.

Taste: Gently malted barley, only ever lightly sweet. Mild hint of fruit. Calm, restrained hop character giving light tastes of citrus, florals, and moist lawn. Subtly bitter. The herbal quality ramps up approaching and beyond the dry finish.

Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Lightly carbonated.

Overall: There’s a lightness in all its qualities, though it’s easily drinkable providing for decent refreshment.

Cask at TND: Aroma of hops, cereal, Earth, and grains. Poured pale yellow in color with a small, loose, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Not sparkling. Full of tiny particles throughout. Flavor is slightly bitter. Tastes of malt, cereal, grains, and Earth. Light to medium body. Dry texture. Cask carbonation. Malt, grain, cereal finish is dry. Boring, with little flavor.

From cask @Edgar Wallace, London. A low lacing beige head, over a clear pale gold colored body. Nice hop nose; Citrus fruits, peach and apricot, supported by a whiff of creamed caramel. Taste is hop driven. Gentle bitterness, and some fine fruity flavoring hops reminiscent of ripe citrus, peaches, apricot and summerflowers. A certain caramelly malt-sweetness in the backbone. Properly light-bodied, yet complex and quite filling. Nice fruity hops linger in the finish. A tasty and easy drinkable all-nighter.

Cask at the silk mill Derby. Fairly standard blonde ale, think of generic adjectives and apply them here.

Cask. Pale golden body with a light white head. The nose is invitingly sweet and floral, fresh grassy hops, watery citrus. The taste is nice, light syrupy sweetness, tempered hops with a light dry finish. The body’s light and refreshing. A legitimately great blonde ale.

Cask @ The Rook & Gaskill York. A clear yellow, golden colored beer, with a small white head. The aroma of some fruits with citrus, bitter hop notes. The taste is some sweet, but flat. It’s fresh with bitter. The aftertaste is some sweet and bitter.

First tasted this in the Saltcot, Saltcoats (JDW) in May 2004. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear pale amber in colour with a thin white head. Fresh citrus notes long in the aroma.Thin resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a fruity zesty note of grapefruit and lemon peel. Aromatic hop resins give a dry bitter aftertaste which compliments the malt. Floral notes continue with a bitter sweet finish, dry grapefruit peel at the end. An ok blond ale but there are better examples of this style out there.
