3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask @ Keans Head, Nottingham. Copper brown, still, very little head. Woody, malty aroma with a hint of cinnamon and bitter chocolate. Taste is bittersweet with a chocolate sour finish and aftertaste. A solid cask ale that grows on you.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: MAR 15, 2015 On cask at The Huntsman, Cheadle. Pours amber with white head. Dull, standard bitter. Canít say Iíve been over impressed with Castle Rock ales. Iíll keep trying!
14/3/2015 - On cask at Congress, Longton. Bit of peat in this, a little harsh and dry but much better than my previous review. I do quite like Castle Rock beers now...

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hand-pulled pint in The Eagle, Boston, Lincolnshire on 29 Mar 2013.
Reddy-mid brown body, clean and clear looking with a light biege head of bubbles.
Slightly more malts than hop notes in the aroma and taste: mildly toffee with a mini bitter finish. Nothing to test your taste buds but an OK beer non-the-less.
Body depth was fine and Iíd have had another if the bus wasnít due to leave!

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Looks like John Smiths, and isnít significantly more interesting. A decent balance but really lacking in character - totally generic bitter.
