Post-festival pint at The Canalhouse on my English stag, 15/10/11. Was too busy talking bollocks at this stage to pay much attention to the beer, to be honest. Good as pitch with a silky tan collar. Light roasted nut roasted flavour, chocolate. Sessionable, with glimpses of character. Holds its condition well. Mellow, but didn’t stop me downing a chilled can of Stella in one and missing the last train home.

Cask handpull at Alexandra Derby. Very dark brown beer. Not much head.. More of a dark mild I would say. Roasty malts are satisfying. Tasty enough and a good beer to start a days drinking in Derby. Some dark fruit.e
