yalnikim (664), Wellington, New Zealand Sep 8, 2008 Tasted 30/08/2008 to 06/09/2008. Schooners mostly, with the odd pot. When you cycle 600km in a week, you get used to a few schooners or pots of this in the back country pubs and clubs. Drinkable but bland. A shade fuller than XXXX Gold. I’m wondering if they come out of the same kettle and XXXX Gold is watered down. Great when you are sick of water or ’Replace’. mtaller (3), Dickinson, Texas, USA does not count Aug 19, 2008 Discovered XXXX during vacation in Queensland. Available in almost every restaurant and bar. Light lager with extra hop bitterness. Slightly stinky aroma. Easy to drink on the beach. futre7 (10), Taipei, Taiwan Aug 11, 2008 I spent 5 months in Queensland , lovely place, but this and the weaker version ( which is worse ) were heavily pushed as the true best beers, Im not against Ozzy beers (some are okay ) , but this is not great , generically ordinarly with no abundant talent in any department. Too light too watery, mild, slightly bitter, but very average.
edit : the first one was submitted without a rating - sorry Dedollewaitor (2163), Odense, Denmark Apr 14, 2008 33cl bottle bought in Italy. Pours clear see through yellow with a white head. Sweet malty/grassy taste with some decent bitter hops. Fresh & crisp. Bought a six pack and brought it back home to Denmark with me. Decent pale lager! yespr (6889), Copenhagen O, Denmark Apr 13, 2008 33 cL bottle at Fiumicino airport, Rome, licensed brew by Carlsberg in Italy, comes as Export Lager. Pours clear and golden yellow with a diminished white head. Light aroma of brewing cereal. Light bitter flavour with a mild sweetness from the malt. Medium dry finish again with a light bitterness.
