Plain, malty aroma. Flavor a bit on the thin and watery side. Pale golden color with a nice-sized head. Not a bad example of the pale lager variety.

Pale looking standard lager with a light musty aroma and a mildly dry flavour. Overall quite a plain lager.

UPDATED: SEP 18, 2003 A nice drop. Goes down very well on hot tropical days, sitting on the deck, over looking the pool. But I dont live in Queensland, and I dont have a pool.

Bottled 375ml. Pale golden, decent lacing head. Aroma of crackers, sand and mushrooms. Strange taste of jarred pickles, sand and cucumber sandwich. Subtle carbonation. Interesting mouthfeel. Some mushroom sneaking in. Dryish biscuity finish which is reminiscent of crackers. After having sampled a Melbourne Bitter and a Carlton Cold, this beer is pretty good.. And tasting it side by side with the other beers mentioned this one is not comparable- it’s by far a lot superior. I like Castlemaine beers- not their best so far though.

Small white head quickly shrinks. Paleish amber body. Faint grainy perfumy aroma with caramelly notes. Dry grainy perfumy taste with papery vegetal notes. Light body. Soft, mild mouthfeel. Dry mealy papery vegetal aftertaste with metallic notes. (0.375l bottle, Taste, Hang Hao, Hong Kong.)

Nice beer in the heat, only place to enjoy this is in Queensland. doesn’t taste as good in the colder climates.

Guam SwillFest 2004: pours a clear yellow with a smallish white head.Light hop aroma with a little fruit. Taste is mildly fruity with the apple (or grape) I have come to expect in Australian lagers. Finish is slightly cardboardish with more hints of apple. Refreshing if nothing else.

Average compared to other lagers, typical mass market product. Doesn’t offend, but there are much better beers to be had.
