COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This golden ale is light-bodied and refreshing. The pale malt provides character and a hint of sweetness that fades into a clean, dry finish.

A light beer, although somewhat flavorful. This would be a good hot day beer, but not a sit down and savor a few beer.

Mercifully it’s retired. Amber with white head. Aroma was of litter box. Flavor was just plain off. You were right, Gasspasser.

This was not a good "experiment" for this very capable brewer. This beer was really no better than the A/B stuff. No longer available from Harpoon/Catamount.

UPDATED: APR 2, 2004 Pours a yellow colour, smells like cat pee and wet dog, tastes just as bad. I sincerely hope this was a bad bottle.

UPDATED: MAR 26, 2004 Massive re rate here. My first rating was like a frikin book and now all I can do is vomit. what the hell was I thinking ? who knows. This was just bad. the nose is blah with hops and ammonia. the taste is sour and flat and sickening. Not drinkable because of the pure putridness.

Light golden color. Dusty honey nose. Citrusy with a bit of sweetness. Slightly thin on the palate. Not exactly groundbreaking but a pretty decent American pale.

UPDATED: MAR 2, 2004 Ok this is terrific and this is NOT a pale ale which I can barely drink. This is a blond for sure as it tastes nearly the same as Leffe and Two Bros. Prarie path. Actually this is even slightly better. Not bitter at all with a golden color and fine taste with a hint of honey maybe? Anyhow drink up this is good.

Was excellent ice cold after doing plumbing repairs. I'm not exactly a beer snob, but i like this. plus it was on sale at trader joes.

Vac (2442) - Soon to be back in San Diego, California, USA - FEB 9, 2003
Pours with a crisp clear deep golden body topped by a very thick white head that disappears quickly, but leaves lots of lace. Sweet Flowery hop aroma with a touch of lemon. Sweet hoppy flavor with some flowery and lemony accents and a hoppy finish. Light to medium bodied and smooth with a touch of dryness.

Was hoping for better. When they say "light-bodied", they weren’t kidding. I miss the old, bolder (pre-Harpoon) brews from Catamount. This is just missing too much. Starts with a nice fruity sroma and it certainly looks like a filtered wheat (which of, course it is not!) Then I was looking for a lemon. On the good side, it is drinkable. This would be a perfect happy hour beer, one where the taste is passable, but after 5 or 6 it just doesn’t matter.

9/22/01: Citrus is the predominant tone; lemons & grapefruits prevail; too much on the nose perhaps, and not enough malts, but I found it very refreshing.

12/04/02: What I said above, except that I found the flavor rather simple and lackluster this time around, with little malt until the end, which finishes a bit too fizzy. Still an above average APA though.
