Peanut Butter Jelly Time Ale Think back to simpler times - when your mom sent you off to school with a PB&J sandwich, and by noon the flavors had all melded into pure comfort food. Well, we recreated that goodness in a beer! This light brown ale is brewed from five different grains, then aged for weeks on raspberries and roasted peanuts. Take a sip, let flavors mingle on your palate, and enjoy our PB&J in a glass.

Taps hazy copper with a thick and fine-bubbled buff head that leaves generous lacing. Aroma presents notes of, yes, grape jelly and peanut butter, as well as fresh malt. Flavor continues the PB&J tones plus a bready note - and some hops and malt as well. A nice idea, but somehow doesnít quite work. Body is firm and fizzy, while finish is like a bite from a classic PB&J sammich. Well, worth trying to bring back happy childhood memories.

Pour is a murky brown with a small white head. Aroma is a nice fresh raspberry. I donít get much of the peanuts but the strong raspberry makes up for it. Flavor is more of the peanuts and the raspberry is barly noticeable. For a gimmick beer this is fine. The ingredients donít all come together at the same time but separately itís as advertised. Raspberry aroma with a peanut flavor.

Pours a murky amber color with an off-white head. looks like muddy water in the glass. Smells like jelly with some mild peanut butter in the background. Tastes like it smells with a slightly tart ending. A solid interesting brew. Not something you want a lot of.

Pours like a murky darker IPA. Nothing about this says brown ale. Aroma is just sweet at first but flavor and aroma soon both hit pbj on white bread dead on. Problem is the nose and flavor are on the weak side, and the body is watery. Pleasant enough, and fun, just a bit weak.

Poured from can. Aroma of mostly raspberry and sugar. Appearance is cloudy dark gold with thick lacing head. Tasting - again, mostly raspberry with dry peanut flavor in back. Also apple and pear notes. Odd aftertaste. Palate is slightly acidic. Overall, this one just didnít work for me.

draft to sampler and who would have thunk that this would work. my best deScription for this is peanut butter and Welchís grape jelly on white bread with no crust. the physical deScription means nothing its what you taste and thatís what I got...should of had a glass of milk with it. ha ha but there is a nice donut store next door. this could be a one time thing but they nailed this one.

UPDATED: MAR 17, 2016 On tap at Catawba. I?m kinda scared. Oh well, let?s do this. Holy PB&J, the aroma nails it. It?s like I?m 20 years younger. Awesome. Holy PB&J the taste nails it too. Huge bonus points for that. It?s like I?m 25 years younger. A well-crafted specialty beer. Worth a try.

Very enjoyable brew. This beer pours a hazy golden yellow orange color. No real lacing from the quick demishing head. Brew starts with bread, then the peanut butter, then the raspberry jam. Enjoy!

Can. Cloudy, light brown with an ever so faint pink hue thatís nearly visible. Medium head. Aroma and flavor is exactly like the name. A peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Taste like peanut butter, jelly and bread. Actually not bad.

12 oz can shared with ebone1988 from Dumpster Box No. 2. The pour is a weird orange ruby color with a thin ring of white head and no lace. The aroma is really decent. There is a weird raw peanut nuttiness that I just don't care for. There is a good bit of raspberry jam, and a light breadiness that is pretty good. The flavor is, well, just terrible. There is a TON of raw peanuts. There is a light bready malt, and a light raspberry. It's definitely not jammy, but like fresh raspberry. The mouth feel is watery and incredibly thin. There is an amazingly light carbonation and a lingeringly peanutty, not good aftertaste. This beer smelled pretty, decent, but just fell apart. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
