2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
11/26/13. On tap at Barley’s in downtown Asheville. Golden orange pour with a small off-white head. Mild aroma, adjuncts, grainy malts, a hint of yeastiness if you search for it. Mild flavor as well, grainy, adjuncts, pale malts, barely a touch of spice if you search. Meh.

bottle. cloudy gold with medium sized, whipped, white head. fruity hops, a hint of grass, and corn syrup aroma. flavor of floral and fruity hops. a lot of corny flavors with probably some flaked adjuncts to add some creaminess. medium to full bodied for the style with a lower carbonation.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Can. Not so good. Golden. Light head. Aroma was a watery, grain like with wisps of a hay field. Taste was very light corn syrup wit a watery hay flavor.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Well, surprise. Found a can of this at Bruisin’ Ales in Asheville, and I couldn’t resist its cheesy label. Plus, cream ales are under-appreciated. This one is light gold, slightly hazy with a modest white head. Nose of hay, sweet grass, cereal, mild corn, and Kolsch-like grape candy. Taste adds some sweetness and a bit of yeast. I dig it.

Can from Bruisin Ales - Pours clear yellow with a white head. Aroma is corn. Palate has an oiliness to it. Drinkable, but not my favorite example of the style.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at Barley’s, Asheville. Advertised simply as a farmhouse ale, though on tasting it becomes apparent that it’s a generic cream ale with a yeasty twist. Blandly deep gold pour, not much carbonation to it. Nose is slight esters and grain, maybe a soupcon of fruit. Watery mouthfeel, tastes washed out all the way. Bleh.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Comes out of the tap a clear straw yellow with a thin white head. Thin aroma is fruity, almost like a cider, that’s it. Well, maybe it gets better. Flavor is mostly fruity, pear plus a bit of malt and a bit of hops. Texture is on the thin side and only typically fizzy. Not their best effort, but palatable.

Pale straw color with a white head that quickly fades away. Aroma of corn and cereal -like malts. Faint sweetness, some cornmeal and malt flavors. Highly carbonated.
