12 oz bottle. Pours black with a minimal khaki head that leaves very little lacing. Aroma is cocoa, caramel and malts. Taste is cocoa up front with caramel and a hint of coconut. Nice cocoa finish. Medium body, creamy texture, low to average carbonation. Had coconut not been in the title I never would have known it was in there. Still it’s very, very tasty!

Can brought back from NC. Pours black with whiteish head. Aroma is mild coconut and chocolate malt, pretty sweet. Taste is muted chocolate with coconut sweetness in the back end. OK beer.

A delicious porter from a local brewery and is extremely tasty! Highly recommended for any one who loves porters.

On tap at the brewery. Half pour- just enough. Decent porter- nothing outstanding. Pours black with a disappointing, dissipating tan head. Coconut and dark roasty flavors on the nose. Good mouthfeel for a porter- not too heavy. The usual dark malt flavors- coffee, vanilla, toast with an appropriate amount of coconut. Not overpowering, but still there enough that a lei would not be inappropriate. Nothing mind blowing, but totally drinkable. Runs a little bit on the sweet side with the coconut.

Draft at Barley’s. Pours a cola brown color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, dark chocolate, mild coconut notes. A bit thin and average with the addition of the coconut making it just interesting enough.

Nice use of coconut, as it melds well with the toasty malt. Not much coconut in the noes, which is somewhat underpowered. Slightly thin bodied, but flavorful. Looks fantastic pouring nearly black with a creamy tan head

A dark brown porter with no head. In aroma, smooth chocolate malt with light coconut and smokiness. In mouth, a nice chocolate malt with caramel and coconut, coffee, well done.

Tap. Dark brown in color with a light head. Flavor is roasted coffee with a touch of coconut. Much more coconut in the aroma, mounds bar with coffee.

Pint on tap. Opaque black with a lasting ring. Mild aroma of coffee, dark chocolate and maybe a hint of coconut. Flavor seems a bit rough with excess roast at first, but settles into a nice groove of semi-sweet dark chocolate and vanilla with nice touches of sour cream and coconut. Medium body has average carbonation and a nice triple balance of dark roast vs. sweet vs. sour.

On tap at Barley’s, Asheville. Medium dark brown pour, slightly oily consistency, minimal head. Nose is strongly chocolatey, with coconut undercurrents. Mound’s Bar. Mouthfeel is thickish, and the oiliness sort of suits the candy-bar flavors. Base porter seems a bit short of the mark, but it was pleasant enough.
