COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Remember when your Mom packed a PB&J sandwich in your lunchbox? The flavors all melded into pure comfort food by noon! Well, we recreated this childhood goodness in a beer! This light brown ale is brewed from five different grains and then aged for weeks on raspberries and roasted peanuts.

Slightly hazed amber pour with no head. Aroma is peanut butter deluxe. Flavor is as the name implies. Just like pbj sandwich. Medium body with good carbonation. ok but not a real drinker

On tap at Bearden Beer Market. cloudy, murky orange, with no head. Smells, well, like a raspberry jam and peanut butter sandwich. Taste is more of the same, maybe a little more raspberry than I would’ve liked. almost flat, too, which I suppose was inevitable. Fun to drink, but I don’t know that I need a lot of this...

12 oz. can that has the name spelled out rather than abbreviated (just saying this cause I was trying to find it in the RB database and couldn’t). Hazy copper brown with a thin film of bubbles. Nose is pureed roasted peanuts and creamy caramel and a bit of berry. Taste is way more raspberry on the front than the aroma would indicate. The salty roasted peanuts appear later and then linger more than the raspberry, but this just emphasizes the dichotomy that should not happen in a PB&J sandwich or an eponymous beer. Light-medium body is pretty well balanced and has medium carbonation. Overall I salute the creative effort and would drink one again, but it’s too heavy on the J to be my style of PB&J.

Pours opaque amber with a medium tan head...lots of sediment. Aroma is just like raspberry jelly. Flavor is like a PB and raspberry sammich that is too heavy on the raspberry jelly. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish is raspberry lingering to faint PB.

Can to snifter (shared with the Mrs.). Pours a murky amberish dark orange with off-white head that steadily dissipates into lacing along with some sediment. Smells like raspberry jelly with some mild peanut butter in the background. Tastes like it smells with a slightly tart mouthfeel. A solid; interesting brew. Not something I’d have more than one of at a time though.

Draft at RBWG grand tasting! I’m not generally a fan of gimmicky beers. The aroma had more peanut butter than jelly. The taste had more jelly than peanut butter. So there.

Another brew in Catawaba’s ever-growing "average" category. On the plus side, flavors are as advertised- peanut butter definitely comes through in the front followed by subtle raspberries. Interesting brew. Pours more like a fizzy, light amber than a brown. Not much head. Overly carbonated. Without the PB& J would just be an anemic amber with almost no flavor Some malt presence- not overly sweet. Just average. But interesting.

Wow! I am still thirsty 24 hours later from all of the peanut butter!! A great beer that brings back memories of summer vacation lunches! Taste just like the sandwich, but I can only have about 1 a week due to the sweetness and peanut butter! A must try!

Draft from a donated keg at RBWG. Pours a hazy orange color with a huge, frothy khaki head. Huge peanut smell, with toasted malts, toffee, dust, and some fruit. The jelly is subtle in both the smell and flavor. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation and a dry mouthfeel. Interesting. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

On tap at RBWG 2014 grand tasting, thanks! Pours a hazy light amber with a light brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a nice peanut note with a light fruit and grain backing. Flavor hits the PB&J right on with rich peanut butter up front with a jam fruit finish.
