Tasted on 8/8/12 from a 12oz can purchased at Bruisin’ Ales. Pours golden/orange with an average, billowy white head that slowly recedes to rocky lace. The nose is spicy yeast with a touch of bread malt, plenty of coriander, and a bit of a vegetal aroma, and just a touch of caramel. The flavor is lightly creamy with some spicy, caramelized orange peel, coriander, and just a touch of caramel malt. The body is light with average carbonation and a long, spicy, slightly vegetal and caramelized orange peel finish.

Draft sample at Cedric’s Tavern at the Biltmore near Asheville, NC; hazy bright golden color with white head. Aroma notes of wheat malt sweetness, grass/hay, citrus and coriander spice. Taste adds orange zest and light earthy/grass bitterness. Light body, moderate carbonation, crisp with wheat spice finish. May be a tad too spice dominated, but light and refreshing enough.

Sample at the Biltmore Village taproom. Hazy yellow-gold color with a thin white head that burns away quickly to a film. Spotty lacing. Herbal wheat, citrus and spice in the nose. Light body with a wheaty character and notes of candied citrus and coriander. The finish is herbal and wheaty. Slightly above average overall.

Just like a white. Full of coriander, malt, orange. All the things a hop head hates.

Keg at Barley’s Taproom, Asheville, 17/02/15. Pale golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose is floral, light piss, straw, citric vibes. Taste comprises lemon rind, citric peel, light spice, perfume, corriander. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Standard Wit fayre.

A hazed golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with light mineral notes, grassy character, OK. In mouth, a sweet fruity mineral malt with light grassy hops, light and boring. Can at Mondial 2015.

Pretty standard as far as these wits go. The spices were overdone, with a bit too much orange peel in particular. Picked up in Asheville in 2015.

12 oz. can. Poured hazy yellow with skim of whitish head. Flavor is bread, mild lemon, yeast, bread, orange peel. Some slight tartness present. Would be refreshing in high temps.
