Cask conditioned at Harbury Beer Fest ’09. Hazed orange gold with white head. Grainy light bitter with a slight citric note to it, malty and fruity. Average.

Cask handpull, The Crown, Nuneaton. Orange gold with a slender white film. Dishcloth and faint orange aroma, sniff of cabbage. Again odd smoked notes, cream, Wotsits dunked in Robinson’s barley squash. Still and vile. I can’t remember a cask beer in decent condition I’ve had that’s worse than this. Only saved from the plughole because there wasn’t one at my table.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Cathedral pumpclips are garnished with an impressive array of gothic finials. Dark gold. Malt and hop aroma. Nettly hop in the taste with a mid bitter finish. Fair golden.
